While our school works diligently to avoid excess, tuition does not
cover annual expenses. The Annual Fund is a benefit designed to
generate the money necessary to support our school. It is because
of this fund that we are able to keep increasing salaries and make
Pope John XXIII teachers among the highest paid in private
schools.
From
the Board:
Q: What amount is the school asking of each family in the
“Be an Angel”
Annual Fund?
A: Each year, the Finance Department will decide what
figure to ask every family to
consider
giving. Knowing that some families will be unable to contribute
the
amount being
asked of them, the school is encouraging all able families to
consider an amount in
excess of what is being asked.
Q: Why is there an Annual Fund?
A: Like all private schools, there is a charitable
component to the school’s income.
It is hoped that
there will be 100% family participation.
Q: What if I can’t pay all at once?
A: Please pay in the manner that is comfortable for
you. The school can bill monthly,
quarterly, or
however you prefer.
Q: When do I need to pay?
A: We are asking that all monies be turned in by July 31st
of the following year as
that closes the
fiscal year for our school. Essentially, there are ten months to
fulfill
your pledge.
Q: Is my gift tax-deductible?
A: Yes.
Q: How is this different from Family Commitment?
A: The Family Commitment is required and the Annual Fund
is voluntary. Family
Commitment is a portion of
tuition that can be worked off through school
sponsored
events like our GALA.
